A cycling outing starts with two decisions: where to ride and how to get a bicycle there. Use the bike section to choose “Rent a bike” or “Bring my bike.” It filters the destinations to match your choice, so you can make the practical arrangements before travelling.
Sands Sports Park: temporarily closed
Sports Boulevard announces maintenance closure at the north and south entrances. Notice checked 14 October 2026; no reopening date is stated. Do not plan a visit until the operator confirms reopening. Check the official notice.
Rent a bike: The Promenade
Wheels lists a rental location at The Promenade. The Sands branch is not an outing option during the park closure. Contact the operator to confirm today’s availability, bicycle size, helmet provision, price, deposit and return time. RiyadhRush links to the operator’s information; rentals are arranged and paid for separately. Do not assume a bicycle will be available without checking.
Bring your bike: choose an available destination
The Promenade offers designated cycling paths for a leisure ride. Sands Sports Park is temporarily excluded from the planner during maintenance. The PNU cycling loop is another dedicated cycling destination; confirm public access and the correct entrance with Sports Boulevard. We have not verified rentals at the PNU loop.
Getting there and enjoying the ride
Arrange transport for your bicycle if you are bringing one: an ordinary taxi may not fit a full-size bike. The planner’s driving link takes you to the cycling destination; it is not a cycling route across Riyadh. Once there, use the designated cycling facilities, leave pedestrian paths clear and follow local access rules. Check the weather, bring water and confirm where your ride will finish.
